Yukon Hospitals was looking for a design and visualization approach that would resonate with the communities in which they operate, especially the Indigenous communities. With such a broad audience, it was important for the design to be as inclusive and interpretive as possible which lent itself very well to illustration. Through consultation with indigenous peers, we developed the illustrations in a way that reflect and respect the people who use Yukon Hospitals services.
Of particular importance to the client was including new Canadians, persons of colour, people living with disability, and LGBTQ2S+ groups as well.
